This laboratory-scale cGMP horizontal peeler centrifuge for processing small quantities of material maintains the advantages of automatic discharge and contained processing. The lab scale centrifuge is suitable for evaluating filtration and cake discharge characteristics. The solids can be discharged into an alpha/beta canister for contained product transfer and solids handling. Complete product recovery is possible without the need to remove the solids manually. A fully opening casing allows for total inspection and validation between product batches. Centrifuges can be manufactured from 316l SS, 904l SS, Hastelloy, alloy 2205, or other materials. This centrifuge has a solids capacity of 2.5 liters, a basket diameter of 10 in., and rotational speed up to 3,500 rpm or 1,711 x g.
