Two Important Events
Get Ready for Informex and Pittcon
There are two key shows set for this month: Informex and Pittcon. Informex is a global event for networking and business in the fine, custom, and specialty chemical manufacturing industry. It's held in San Francisco Feb. 13-16. Pittcon, considered the largest conference and expo for laboratory science, is presented by the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh and the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh. It begins Feb. 25 in Chicago and runs through March 2.
If your company manufactures organic chemicals, Informex show management says your R&D chemists, production managers, and P&L executives will find this event particularly valuable because it has chemical technology booths covering just about every organic chemical reaction, catalysis technology, and hazardous chemistry. Meanwhile, Pittcon offers a first-hand look at the latest products for laboratory science. For example, Fluid Imaging Technologies will unveil its new color FlowCAM particle analysis system at the show. It features 23 different measurement parameters including intensity, transparency, color, ESD volume, ABD volume, compactness, roughness, elongation, and particle length. The imaging-based technology also provides an advanced suite of specialized parameters for analyzing and sizing spherical particles. The patented system automatically images every particle in a discrete fluid sample or continuously in process. Images are saved in full color with their corresponding data set in a simple spreadsheet format or patented interactive scattergram.
