Nanotechnology has been heralded as the next industrial revolution, with the nanotechnology market estimated to reach $1 trillion by 2015. To date, most activity has been in the field of nanopolymers used for composite materials and thin film coatings. Behind much of the hype surrounding nanocomposites is a real opportunity for companies to produce sustainable materials faster and cheaper.
