AS-I Bus Control System

Actuator-Sensor Interface (AS-I) Bus Control System is designed for precise on/off control of multiple automated valves. Providing reliable control for binary and analog devices, AS-I can be used to compliment higher-level bus control systems, as well as for stand-alone process control. Systems' simplified design consists of a single 2-wire flat cable, which handles power and communications, controlling the network by "chaining" the actuators with the PLC. In standard networking, the AS-I is capable of attaching up to 31 devices to a single self-sealing two-wire cable, with a cycle time of 5ms for a distance up to 100 meters. A further distance at a maximum of 300 meters can be achieved by utilizing "repeaters."
