Sanitary Rotary Continuous Mixer

The Model 16-4SS sanitary rotary continuous mixer blends ingredients in ratios to one ppm with 100 percent uniformity regardless of disparities in bulk densities, particle sizes, or flow characteristics of ingredients, which may include liquid additions. Capacity ranges from 85 ft3/h (2.45 m3/h) at 1 minute residence time to 42 ft3/h (1.19 m3/h) at 2 minutes residence time. Mixing flights in the slowly rotating 16 in. x 4 ft (406 x 1,219 mm) cylinder impart a forward- and reverse-pitch mixing action that distributes bulk ingredients thoroughly and gently in short residence times, while eliminating internal restrictions where material could plug or accumulate. Solid weirs on the discharge end allow materials to build a residence volume in the machine and overflow the weir. Power is provided by a 1/2 hp motor. RPM may be adjusted to compensate for angles of repose and densities of different mixtures, and the drum angle can be adjusted from 0 to 12 degrees.
