Preventing Metal Contamination

The Rotor Detection System (RDS) from Nu-Con www.nucon.com/en/rotary-valves/rotor-detection-systems immediately alerts plant operators of metal-to-metal contact in rotary valves. When fitted, the RDS continuously monitors the electrical isolation between the rotor and the valve housing. According to the company, the system offers an unprecedented level of security from metal contamination to powder processors. If a valve fails, the RDS sends a signal to the plant’s SCADA system and shuts the valve down. RDS is available on all new Nu-Con rotary valves.
